Our skincare has recently received an overhaul, we have streamlined the range, increasing sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of our packaging. It’s now better than ever, for you and our environment.
Nature has always been at the heart of the Manuka Doctor brand. As the company’s bees thrive in the clean green countryside of New Zealand, our award-winning brand is now taking sustainability to the next level with environmentally friendly packaging on three levels.
BIO-PLASTIC TUBES
By using bio-plastic tubes, which use ethanol pressed from renewable sugar cane plants, the process is much less energy intensive than traditional plastic. The resulting tube is 100 per cent recyclable and can be mixed in with other household plastics meaning no more confusion about what can or can’t be recycled.
WOOD BASED LABEL
A pioneering wood based material, certified by ISCC, uses residues of the pulping process from sustainably managed forests. This means Manuka Doctor’s labels are now produced using renewable resources, which replace an equivalent amount of fossil fuel in the production process. All this means increased sustainability and 100 per cent recyclability.
NO PLASTIC WRAPS OR FOIL
And finally, with the Manuka Doctor new-look packaging you will also find no plastic wrapping to seal the boxes and no gold or silver foil which some local authorities will not recycle. All cardboard is FSC grade which helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife who call them home.
SUSTAINABLE MANUKA
Not only is the packaging moving to be more sustainable, Manuka Doctor also takes great care to ensure the future supply of Manuka honey. This is shown through a commitment which has already seen 360,000 manuka seedlings planted, creating one of the biggest privately-owned wild Manuka plantations in New Zealand.
What makes Manuka Doctor skincare so special is the inclusion of true New Zealand Manuka honey, harvested from the company’s own hives, before being safely transported to the UK where the Manuka Doctor skincare products are lovingly made.
WHY IS MANUKA SO GOOD FOR MY SKIN?
Mānuka honey is truly a gift from nature with amazing properties for skin and wellbeing! It can support a range of skin complaints and is suitable for all skin types including the biggest concern of all, anti-ageing! You can of course create skin treatments at home with your pot of Mānuka honey but our skincare range makes it much more convenient to harness this wonder ingredient for your skin.
The MGO found in Mānuka honey gives it greater antimicrobial properties than other honeys, which means it’s better able to fight skin conditions like acne and rosacea. Being anti-inflammatory, it can also help soothe red, irritated skin.
Mānuka honey is packed with natural antioxidants that help ward off damage caused by free radicals, such as the appearance of wrinkles, making it the perfect anti-ageing ingredient.
You can also tackle dry skin with Mānuka, as it has moisturising properties that soothe, smooth and plump up dry skin.
