What are Manuka honey lozenges?
Lozenges are a fantastic way to deliver natural Manuka honey when you have a sore throat or cough. Traditional honey lozenges or throat sweets have been around for many years to help sooth a sore throat or a cough.
The main difference between lozenges you can buy in supermarkets or pharmacies and the ones from Manuka Doctor is that we only use genuine Manuka honey in our products.
What will Manuka lozenges do for me?
Public Health England recommend that people turn to honey at the first sign of a cough with Manuka lozenges a helpful way to deliver Manuka honey to the places you need it when out and about.
While a scientific study from 2004 showed that chewing or sucking a Manuka honey sweet helped improve oral health by reducing plaque, and gum-bleeding. With the researchers suggesting "there may be a potential therapeutic role for Manuka honey confectionery in the treatment of gingivitis and periodontal disease".
What are Manuka Middles?
Manuka Middles are our flagship lozenges, made with high grade 300 MGO Manuka honey. The reason we call them "Middles" is because the centre contains liquid Manuka honey. Meaning that when you’ve had it in your mouth for a while, the hard outer shell cracks and the liquid Manuka centre is revealed.
Manuka Middles are also formulated with zinc which helps support the immune system.
What are Manuka nuggets?
Manuka Nuggets are still formulated with Manuka honey, but it is added during the manufacturing process. So rather than a liquid centre Nuggets are more like a Manuka honey boiled sweet which you suck.
Unlike Manuka Middles they don’t contain zinc and are made with 100 MGO Manuka honey instead of 300 MGO.
When should I take one?
All of Manuka Doctor’s lozenges are perfect for a convenient pop of Manuka honey when you are out and about. So there’s so need to open a jar or wait until you’re home. By keeping a bag of Manuka Doctor lozenges in your handbag, desk drawer or pocket, you can have Manuka honey on the go with all the taste and none of the mess.
