Manuka Doctor took home another trophy at the prestigious London Honey Awards 2021 this month.

We beat hundreds of other honeys from around the world as a panel of experts judged our special 1100 MGO Manuka honey a winner in the quality category.

This is the second year in a row we have won at these International awards, which see a panel of honey experts taste all different sorts of varieties ranking them on taste, texture, profile and of course, unique properties.

Pleasingly our Max Strength 1100 MGO was also the strongest grade Manuka honey tasted by judges this year.

This very special product smashes our record with an MGO content of 1100 milligrams of Methylglyoxal per kilogram which is the highest we have ever seen at Manuka Doctor.

Our Max Strength Range (including 640, 740, 840, 940, 1000 and 1100 MGO) comes from a remote area of mountainous land in New Zealand owned by our founder which is almost completely untouched by humans.

Our communities of bees are left to do their job just as nature intended, foraging in the Manuka bushes which cover the mountain. While our expert beekeeping team visit every few weeks to check on the progress of the hives.

There are multiple reasons why this location has produced such potent honey but our team says the high temperature in the area, combined with a low level of moisture in the soil has helped create the perfect conditions for the bees to develop Manuka honey.

While we can’t reveal the exact location of the beehives that created our Max Strength batches, those customers who are lucky enough to buy a pot will be able to see the test certificates from an independent lab that proves its strength.
