Our ApiNourish range and Facial Oils will help keep your skin hydrated through the colder months. Central heating at this time of year can lead to skin becoming very dehydrated. A less obvious cause of dry skin comes from taking hot baths and showers. Hot water removes your skin's protective lipid barrier and with it moisture from the skin and so a mild temperature is recommended.
Tip 1: Put on your moisturiser when your skin is still damp.
This allows the skin to really lock in the moisture.
"I use the Manuka Doctor Revitalising Day Cream, it's really hydrating and keeps my skin feeling soft for the whole day. I also really like to use the Manuka Doctor ApiNourish Restoring Night Cream" Jess Wright
The Manuka Doctor ApiNourish Revitalising Day Cream SPF15 contains ingredients which feed the skin moisture including, Manuka Honey from New Zealand which is well known to help boost moisturisation & elastin. Shea Butter, renowned for its skin soothing and replenishing properties and Olive Oil which is rich in oleic acid used help keep it moist and supple. The ApiNourish Restoring Night Cream contains Cocoa Butter to help reduce skin dryness and replenish lost moisture whilst you sleep.
Tip 2: Make time for a face mask
Face masks are a great way to deeply hydrate your skin. By leaving the formula on your face for 15-30 minutes, your skin will absorb the maximum amount it can and is more effective than applying just your normal day or night cream. Every skin type can benefit from a face mask and it can be done once or twice a week, or even just once a month. A hydrating face mask is the perfect way of rejuvenating your skin and giving it a natural glow.
The ApiNourish Rejuvenating Face is a mask that doesn’t look like you're wearing a mask! Amazing! Instead it is a deeply hydrating formula that is quickly absorbed and disappears into your skin instead of sitting on the surface. It features collagen boosting Purified Bee Venom (PBV™) and Manuka honey to nurture natural cell regeneration and renew damaged skin cells helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
"If I have time before bed and my skin is feeling really dry I use the ApiNourish Rejuvenating Face Mask, it’s great to use once or twice a week as it leaves my skin feeling really plumped and refreshed" Jess Wright
Tip 3: Add a Facial Oil to your morning and night-time moisturiser for added nourishment
Facial oils are an important step in your skincare routine especially in dry Winter weather, as they act as a sealant to keep moisture in. Without it, moisture from your day cream just can’t stay in. Your cells drink the water whilst oils offer protection and lubrication.
"Before I go to bed I will apply the Replenishing Facial Oil to hydrate my skin overnight and I find it leaves my skin looking really fresh in the morning" Jess Wright
The Manuka Doctor Replenishing Facial Oil is designed to suit all skin types, so there is no reason not to try this powerful anti-ager for visible skincare results. Just a couple of drops applied daily will visibly hydrate, revitalise and even skin tone whilst essential oils restore skin's suppleness - all without greasy side effects. Mix a couple of drops into your day or night cream and apply.
Tip 4: Drink plenty of water!
Central heating can dehydrate your body as well as your skin so make sure you hydrate from the inside out. You should drink at least two litres of water a day. Drinking water also helps the body detox, especially if you add some lemon or lime.
For a warm seasonal pick me up try adding Manuka Doctor's Manuka Honey Fusion 1Shot with Lemon & Ginger to some warm water. Not only does its tangy zing invigorate the senses, lemon juice is also a great source of vitamin C of which is proven to support immune function. It is also widely believed that Vitamin C helps your body fight infection. Ginger, as well as having great flavour, is believed to soothe digestive distress and provide effective relief for a sore throat. So what's not to love!
